Price: We guarantee to beat any price comparison you bring – ask around, you won’t get a lower price. The vasectomy costs a maximum of $500 but most patients pay less when they submit an insurance claim to their insurer (see below for details). The optional consultation fee of $100 and optional Pro-Nox fee of $150 are available to accommodate any additional care you need. We accept most insurance companies and most people with insurance pay significantly less out-of-pocket. We accept Medicaid patients.
Payment
We accept all forms of payment including cash, check, credit, debit and HSA or other health care cards. This is collected upfront and any reimbursement is provided by your insurance company depending on your individual plan and if you decided to submit an insurance claim.
Insurance
Why does HVC not submit insurance claims for patients? As healthcare has grown, it has become increasingly complicated, which has resulted in increased cost to provide healthcare and increased cost to the patient. One of our top priorities is to keep cost low for you and we have found that the best way to do this is to have patients submit their own insurance claims. We have made this as easy as possible and received feedback from patients stating just how easy it is. Submitting your claim typically takes about 15 minutes. One patient even submitted his insurance claim while having his vasectomy. It is that easy.
Through this process we are able to keep the cost of consultation and vasectomy around the same amount that most insurance companies reimburse, which results in a very low cost or, ideally, a free appointment for most of our patients with insurance. We have gone one step further to ensure lower cost care by providing the option for an online consultation through our Consultation page, which allows patients to avoid the $100 in person consultation fee. However, if you choose the in-person consultation, most insurance companies will reimburse the entire $100 fee.
How do I submit an insurance claim? Simply fill out your insurance companies claim form and submit it with the invoice we provide after your visit. Insurance claim forms are typically found on your insurance companies website, if not, please contact them and they will provide the claim form. If there are any questions it is always best to contact your insurance company first but we are here to help in any way we can.
What if I have Medicaid? Medicaid requires an in-person consultation and that your vasectomy be at least 30 days after the consultation visit in order to reimburse your claim. Please consider this in your scheduling. If you are paying out-of-pocket, these regulations may not apply.
